What to wear, what it costs and where to get it. You don’t need any uniform to start, so wait until your young person has settled in.

Everyone also wears our group necker and a woggle, usually with dark trousers, joggers or a skirt. Young people receive their necker when they are invested, a special ceremony where they make their Scout Promise for the first time.
Uniform tops are available from Scout Store and local stockists. Our group shop sells group hoodies, t-shirts, fleeces, neckers and woggles.
Subscriptions
Each section charges a termly subscription (“subs”), which covers the running costs of our Scout HQ, badges, insurance, programme materials and membership of The Scout Association. We’ll confirm current rates when your young person joins, and you can pay through the Online Scout Manager parent portal.
What subs don’t cover: camps, trips and special events are charged separately at cost. We always give plenty of notice and try to keep costs as low as possible.
- Gift AidAs a registered charity we can claim Gift Aid on subscriptions, adding 25% at no cost to you. If you’re a UK taxpayer, please complete a Gift Aid declaration when your young person joins.
- Help with costsWe never want cost to be a barrier to Scouts. If your family would find it hard to pay for subs, uniform or camps, please speak to your section leader or get in touch in confidence. We’ll always try to help.
