More families than ever want to join Needham Market Scouts. Most of our sections are now full, and local young people are waiting for a place. We want to say yes to all of them, and with your help, we can.
Since our new Scout HQ opened, interest has grown even further. We now have the space to welcome more young people. What we need is more adults alongside our brilliant existing volunteers.
What more volunteers would let us do
- Open a second Beaver colony for 6 to 8 year olds
- Offer more Squirrel places for 4 to 6 year olds
- Run more camps, trips and adventures in every section
- Make the most of our new HQ, and keep the Group strong for years to come
You don’t need to give up every evening
Some of our volunteers help every week. Others help with one camp a year, share a skill for an evening, look after the HQ or join our Trustee Board, which meets just three or four times a year. You don’t need any Scouting experience, and you’ll get free training and lots of support.
Many of our volunteers are parents and carers who started by helping out now and then. If your child is on our waiting list, getting involved is one of the best ways to help us create more places.
